How do laboratory diagnostics work?

For thyroid diagnostics and for monitoring the course of therapy, it is necessary to determine special blood parameters. For this purpose, we take a small amount of blood from our patients, usually from the vein in the arm. It is not necessary to come to the practice on an empty stomach. In the Bioscientia laboratory, with which we work closely, all the necessary parameters (e.g. thyroid hormones, thyroid antibodies, tumour markers, vitamin D3) are then being determined. This usually takes 2-3 days.

Are the costs reimbursed?

Laboratory diagnostics are a statutory and private health insurance benefit.
